Support Your Local Farmer at Open Farm Sunday

Mar 14, 2024 | Blog, Featured, News

We are seeking BSSS members who would like to volunteer and support with farming’s annual open day. Established in 2006, Open Farm Sunday is one of the farming industry’s biggest success stories and provides a fantastic opportunity for visitors to learn more about farming, the countryside and soil!

This year’s event will be held on Sunday 9 June 2024 and we are delighted to be supporting LEAF by pairing willing BSSS members with farmers who would like soil to be a prominent feature at their farm’s open day. Unsure of what you may have to offer a local farmer? Read our Get Involved in Open Farm Sunday blog for more information, top tips and activity ideas.

Have we sparked your interest? To find out how you can make a difference this year, please join us at An Introduction to Open Farm Sunday – Discussion Session on Wednesday 17 April from 12 – 1pm, hosted on Microsoft Teams. Led by Lizzie Sagoo, Dick Thompson, Kara Marsden and Chris Cantle, this is an excellent opportunity to hear from those who have previously been part of Open Farm Sunday and ask any questions that you may have.

Update (May 2024): The recording of the presentations is available here.
