Who we work with

Our Partners

To deliver our strategic objectives, we work with a number of key organisations and partners.

The International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) is the global union of soil scientists.  We are a corporate member of IUSS and hold a seat on its Council. Members of the British Society of Soil Science are also Members of the IUSS and are entitled to reduced registration rates to the World Congress of Soil Science.

Science council

The Science Council is a membership organisation for professional bodies and learned societies across science, bringing together a range of disciplines and sectors to reflect the multi-disciplinary practice of science in today’s society. We are a member of the Science Council, and offer Chartered Scientist status to our members.

Global soil partnership

We are a partner organisation of the Global Soil Partnership, whose mandate is to improve governance of the limited soil resources of the planet to guarantee healthy and productive soils for a food secure world, and support other essential ecosystem services.

Foundation of Science and Technology

We are a member of the Foundation of Science and Technology, whose purpose is to provide a neutral platform for debate on policy issues that have a scientific, engineering or technology focus.

Parlimentary and Scientific Committee

We are a member of the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee, which focuses on major scientific and technological issues and provides a liaison between Parliamentarians, scientific bodies, science-based industry and academia.

Royal Society of Biology

We are a member of the Royal Society of Biology, a single unified voice for biology: advising Government and influencing policy; advancing education and professional development and engaging and encouraging public interest in the life sciences.
