The Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network Global (GCSAYN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Miss Emmanuella Peter as Special Envoy and Miss Abigael Wambui as Deputy Special Envoy for the GCSAYN First Annual Forum (GAF-I) 2026, scheduled to take place on 11–12 August 2026 at the United States International University–Africa (USIU-Africa), Nairobi, Kenya.
These appointments reflect GCSAYN’s unwavering commitment to nurturing young leaders who are passionate about climate-smart agriculture, sustainable food systems, environmental stewardship, and youth leadership. As representatives of the Forum, both young leaders will champion youth engagement, promote collaboration among emerging agricultural leaders, and amplify the voices of young people committed to building resilient and sustainable agrifood systems.
Emmanuella Peter – Special Envoy, GAF-I 2026 and 2026 Borlaug Scholar.
Emmanuella Peter is a Junior Secondary School Three student at City of Mercy Christian Academy, Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. Despite her young age, she has demonstrated remarkable dedication to climate-smart agriculture, environmental sustainability, leadership, and community service.
In 2026, she successfully completed the Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network Global (GCSAYN) Cohort 5 Internship Programme, where she acquired practical knowledge and experience in climate-smart agriculture, food security, sustainable development, and youth leadership.
Her exceptional commitment and outstanding performance led to her contributions toward activities associated with the World Food Prize Foundation Global Youth Institute, culminating in her endorsement as a 2026 Borlaug Scholar.
As Special Envoy for GAF-I 2026, Emmanuella will serve as a youth ambassador, encouraging meaningful youth participation in sustainable development initiatives while inspiring young people to actively contribute to food security, climate action, and resilient communities through education, innovation, and service.
She enjoys reading, learning about agriculture and nature, and participating in environmental conservation initiatives that create lasting community impact.
Abigael Wambui – Deputy Special Envoy, GAF-I 2026
Abigael Wambui is a student of General Agriculture Extension at Rift Valley National Polytechnic, Kenya, with a strong passion for climate-smart agriculture, sustainable farming, youth leadership, and community development.
Her journey with GCSAYN began through active participation in youth programmes, leading to her selection as a GCSAYN Cohort 5 Intern. During the internship, she contributed significantly to youth engagement, meeting coordination, programme documentation, and communications while strengthening her competencies in leadership, teamwork, report writing, and professional communication.
Abigael is also an active participant in the GCSAYN Mentorship Programme, where she continues to develop her expertise in agricultural extension, climate-smart agriculture, leadership, and sustainable development under the guidance of experienced professionals.
In recognition of her dedication and commitment to youth development, she has been appointed Deputy Special Envoy for GAF-I 2026. In this capacity, she will support youth engagement initiatives, foster collaboration among emerging leaders, and advocate for innovative approaches that strengthen food security and climate resilience across Africa.
She is passionate about agricultural extension, farmer education, community service, networking, and mentoring fellow young people, with a vision of empowering youth to become transformative leaders in sustainable agriculture.

The GCSAYN First Annual Forum (GAF-I) 2026 will convene global leaders, policymakers, researchers, development partners, private sector actors, and young professionals to advance dialogue and collaboration on climate-smart agriculture and sustainable food systems.
Through the appointment of youth representatives such as Emmanuella Peter and Abigael Wambui, GCSAYN continues to demonstrate its commitment to empowering the next generation of agricultural leaders and ensuring that young voices remain central to shaping resilient and sustainable agrifood systems.
