The position will start on or around September 1st, 2024, and is initially limited to three years. It will be extended for three years subject to successful intermediate evaluation. The research assistant position offers further qualification including habilitation. We are seeking talented and ambitious professionals with a first-class PhD and a proven track record of outstanding research in soil science and/or geomorphology.

Applications are particularly encouraged from the fields of soil erosion, soil landscape change and evolution, or soil ecology. A focus on process-related experimental research would be an asset. Very good knowledge of statistics and pedometrics is required.

The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong, independent research program and to manage and deliver graduate and undergraduate teaching (4 semester hours, in English or German) within the above area of specialization. We believe in strong interdisciplinarity and are looking for candidates willing to collaborate with colleagues both within and beyond the discipline.
