The British Society of Soil Science (BSSS) is inviting applications to join our Policy Sub-Group — an exciting opportunity to help influence national and international soil policy and advocate for sustainable soil management.

We are looking for members who can demonstrate:

• A strong interest and experience in policy development or engagement
• A solid background in soil science, ideally at a higher academic or professional level

As a member of the Policy Sub-Group, you will:

• Contribute to the Society’s Soil Health Charter
• Help shape responses to relevant government and industry consultations
• Support the production of white papers, policy guidance, and other key documents
• Help shape policy priorities and direction

The group meets quarterly, with additional meetings arranged as policy matters arise.
