Dr Marcelo Galdos is Chair of the South East England Soil Discussion Group (SEESOIL) and BSSS Council Member.
He is a soil scientist specialising in Digital Agriculture, and is a Senior Research Scientist – Soil Carbon Specialist at Rothamsted Research. He uses crop, soil and climate monitoring and modelling to assess the impact of climate change, land use and agricultural management practices on yields, soil organic matter, soil moisture, nutrient use efficiency and greenhouse gas fluxes. His research combines in-situ sensors, biogeochemical models, Earth Observation and life cycle assessment to develop mitigation and adaptation strategies in agricultural systems.
