The BSSS Hardship Fund

Nov 18, 2022 | News

The British Society of Soil Science (BSSS) is committed to supporting members experiencing financial hardship and the BSSS Hardship Fund has been set-up to continue our commitment to support members through times of need.

The fund is designed to assist current members, with at least 12 months continuous membership, who would like to remain as a member but would otherwise be unable to due to financial difficulties. For example, a member who is suffering from ill-health, whose earnings are impacted as a result, and who cannot afford to pay the annual fee.

The Society will support a maximum of ten applications per annum. Successful applicants can re-apply for the fund for a maximum of three years but are not guaranteed funding for years two and three as this will be dependent on other applications received. Successful applicants will be permitted a maximum of three years of funding, even if there has been a break between applications.

To apply for support from the Hardship Fund, please complete the application form in full and return to admin@soils.org.uk by the closing date of Tuesday 31 January 2023 at 5:00pm.
