Soil Science Loan Box

Thank you for your interest in and support of soil science education. We are delighted that you are interested in loaning our helpful toolkit and resources to share the importance of soil with your peers, colleagues, community, or the next generation.
To hire a Soil Science Loan Box, we require a deposit of £50, which will be refunded to you on receipt of the box back to the Society’s office.
Please complete the order form below to register your interest. Once your order has been received, a member of the Office Team will be in contact regarding availability of a box for your event and to send across an invoice for the deposit.

Terms and Conditions
1. The British Society of Soil Science’s (BSSS) Soil Science Loan Boxes can be hired free of charge for a maximum of four weeks.
2. BSSS requires a Responsible Person to be named on the booking and this person will be the sole contact.
3. The Soil Science Loan Boxes will be issued on a first come first served basis. We recommend that you make your booking as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
4. The contents of each Soil Science Loan Box is the property of the British Society of Soil Science.
5. The British Society of Soil Science is to be acknowledged at any event or presentation for which the Soil Science Loan Box is used.
6. It is the responsibility of the named Responsible Person to carry out a risk assessment for using the Soil Science Loan Box and approving this with the venue if applicable.
7. The Responsible Person will check the contents of the box against the inventory list on receipt of the Soil Science Loan Box delivery and inform the BSSS Office Team of any missing or damaged items before using it. If the BSSS Office Team are not informed before the box is returned, the Responsible Person will be liable for any missing or damaged items.
8. The Responsible Person will return the Soil Science Loan Box by the agreed date. If the loan box is returned later than agreed, a small fee may be payable to cover any bookings affected.
9. If a Soil Science Loan Box is not returned, a replacement fee of £100 will be charged.
10. On receipt of the returned Soil Science Loan Box, the contents will be checked by the BSSS Office Team against the inventory list. Any missing or damaged items will be charged for at full price.
By completing our online booking form and paying a deposit, the named Responsible Person agrees to the above terms and conditions.
