Who we work with
Our Partners
To deliver our strategic objectives, we work with a number of key organisations and partners.
International Union of Soil Scientists (IUSS)
The International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) is the global union of soil scientists. We are a corporate member of IUSS and hold a seat on its Council. Members of the British Society of Soil Science are also Members of the IUSS and are entitled to reduced registration rates to the World Congress of Soil Science.
society publishers coalition
The Society Publishers Coalition is a group of not-for-profit learned societies, community publishers and charities who publish as part of their charitable objectives. SocPC members strive for an orderly and sustainable transition to open scholarship and to improve the efficiency of the scholarly communication ecosystem in a fair and sustainable way.
Science council
The Science Council is a membership organisation for professional bodies and learned societies across science, bringing together a range of disciplines and sectors to reflect the multi-disciplinary practice of science in today’s society. We are a member of the Science Council, and offer Chartered Scientist status to our members.
Global soil partnership
We are a partner organisation of the Global Soil Partnership, whose mandate is to improve governance of the limited soil resources of the planet to guarantee healthy and productive soils for a food secure world, and support other essential ecosystem services.
Institute of Quarrying
We are a partner of the Institute of Quarrying, who support professionals working with soils within the mineral extraction industry by promoting good practice for their conservation, and their sustainable and functional recovery.
Parlimentary and Scientific Committee
We are a member of the Parliamentary and Scientific Committee, which focuses on major scientific and technological issues and provides a liaison between Parliamentarians, scientific bodies, science-based industry and academia.
The Coalition of Action 4 Soil Health (CA4SH)
We are working in partnership with the Coalition of Action 4 Soil Health (CA4SH). Their main objective is to improve global soil health by addressing critical implementation, monitoring, policy, and public-private investment barriers that constrain farmers from adopting and scaling out healthy soil practices.
