Soil life is a fascinating, unexplored frontier, but it can be difficult to communicate its wonder and importance to others. Yet this communication is of vital importance if we are to enthuse people about managing soils sustainably and conserving soil biodiversity.
This public one-day event, comprising presentations, workshops and practical demonstrations, aims to share experience and expertise in communicating soil biology. The event will provide opportunities for networking and help to inspire and educate science communicators to engage audiences with the world of soil biology.
Morning presentations will highlight different approaches to communicating soil biology, followed by interactive practical demonstrations and workshops, indoors and out.
The event will be useful for anyone interested in helping others understand and explore soil life.
It aims to support farm advisors, wildlife groups, school teachers, university lecturers, researchers, biological recorders, museum staff, scientific journalists, artists, designers and anyone else that is keen to share their enthusiasm for soil.
Come along, and learn, develop and exchange ideas to help bring soil life to life!
The event is being run at cost price of £17 per ticket and will include lunch and refreshments.
